Don't just feel better - BE better! The Functional and Integrative Medical model is a science-based, personalized medical approach, which identifies the mechanisms(causes) of illness and aims to restore health and function. It provides a framework to bridge conventional and alternative medical concepts. My philosophy emphasizes education and I have lived this philosophy through the 100+ lectures I have conducted for patients and physicians alike. The most recent groups I have had the pleasure of speaking to, include the Society of Orthomolecular Medicine, Pfizer Canada, The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine and the Hearth Cancer Support centre. I am the medical director of The Centre for Advanced Medicine in Whitby, medical advisor for the Centre for Restorative Medicine in Ajax, and the Chief Naturopathic Doctor for the Canadian Centre for Integrative Medicine in Markham. I am also a proud member of the Transition Advisory Group for the Government of Ontario, The Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors, The Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors and a peer reviewer for \"Integrated Healthcare Practitionors Journal.\" I am also on the Medical Advisory Council for AOR Canada, Clinical Advisory for Fluids IQ Laboratory and on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Restorative Medicine. With an emphasis on understanding research-based mechanisms of disease to restore health using integrative medical strategies, I see a wide variety of complex health concerns and have been practicing Functional Medicine for the past 12 years.
