Melissa Descoteaux is a Naturopathic Doctor practising in downtown Toronto and Oakville. She has a general practice but focuses on optimizing energy, weight management, sleep and digestive concerns, as well as men's and women's health. Melissa emphasizes evidence based natural treatments such as clinical nutrition (including supplements), acupuncture, herbal medicine, IV nutrient Therapy, Vitamin D3 and B12 injections. She also utilizes diagnostic blood work and specialty tests (IgG food sensitivity testing, hormone testing etc.) to help guide treatment when necessary. While completing her Honors Degree in Biochemistry from the University of Ottawa, Melissa discovered Naturopathic medicine and its benefit in the prevention and management of chronic diseases. Soon after she completed her training from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (one of two accredited 4 year naturopathic colleges in Canada) and is now a registered Naturopathic doctor in Ontario. She is a member of the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors as well as the Canadian College of Naturopathic Doctors. She also did addition training in nutrient IV and injection therapy as well as prescribing and therapeutics. She enjoys working with patients to create individualized treatment plans that are realistic and sustainable.
