Yelena Deshko became interested in natural medicine from a very early age. While growing up in Europe, herbal medicine and traditional techniques like cupping were the mainstay of primary healthcare. Her exposure to these therapies sparked a lifelong interest in holistic health. Yelena decided to follow her passion and went on to hold a bachelor degree in Biology from York University. She then pursued her studies in the field of Naturopathic medicine at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. She also completed a twelve-month long internship at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic, the largest facility of its kind in Ontario. Doctor Deshko also holds a special Naturopathic certification to practice Intravenous (IV) Therapy. Yelena Deshko is a member in good standing with the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND), the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND), the Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians (ONCAP), the Association for the Advancement of Restorative Medicine (AARM), and the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO).Doctor Deshko utilizes a combination of techniques including acupuncture, botanical medicine, intravenous vitamin therapies, other injection therapies, supplements, as well as diet and lifestyle counseling for the most effective and individualized care. She is a general family practitioner with a special interest in anti-aging, preventative medicine, and women's health concerns such as menopause, infertility, PMS and many more.
